The High Representative of the EU, Josep Borrell, had a new communication with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Vladimir Makei. According to a tweet, Mr Borrell called for “urgent action” to restore security in Belarus’ border areas with the EU, as well as to address the “humanitarian woes” of those trapped. In particular, the High Representative notes:
“I spoke with Foreign Minister Mackay following the debate in the Foreign Affairs Council on Belarus.
“I called for urgent action to restore security in the areas of Belarus bordering the EU and to address the humanitarian suffering of those trapped there.”
