New coronavirus cases in Malaysia at a high quarter

The highest number of new cases coronavirus In more than three months, Malaysia announced today, as the country faces a new increase in cases.

The Ministry of Health reported 4,855 new cases – the highest number since January 31 – and 27 deaths.

A total of 458,077 cases and 1,788 deaths have been recorded in the country, according to AMPE.

Malaysia imposed a national team on Monday lockdown banning internal movement and closing schools.

It has been in a state of emergency since January to curb the spread of the virus.

The latest increase is due in part to the highly contagious variants of the virus that have been identified in recent weeks.

Earlier this week, the health ministry warned that by mid-May, the daily new cases could reach 5,000, a number that has not been recorded since the end of January.
