Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi had a new telephone conversation this afternoon with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
As it became known from the Italian presidency of the government, the conversation focused on the latest developments on the battlefield in Ukraine, with special reference to the eastern regions of the country. Mario Draghi reaffirmed the Italian government’s support for Ukraine, in coordination with the rest of the European Union.
At the same time, the prospects of unblocking Ukrainian grain exports were discussed in order to address the food crisis that threatens the poorest countries in the world. The Ukrainian president finally thanked for the support provided by the Italian government and agreed with the Italian Prime Minister to continue talks, considering possible solutions.
