Close to 50 cents per kilowatt-hour are the nominal household electricity tariffs for August announced today by electricity suppliers.
The final consumer prices will be determined after the notification of the State subsidies which are expected immediately. Estimates indicate that the final price will be close to 15 cents per kilowatt hour.
PPC, which has the largest share in electricity supply, announced that the tariff for August will be 0.486 euros per kilowatt hour (0.498 for consumptions over 2000 kilowatt hours in the four months). At 0.495 Euro/kWh is the tariff of Heron for the next month, at 0.54913 Euro/kWh of Protergia, while the announcement of the tariffs by all suppliers is expected gradually. It is noted that further differences apply to fixed charges per supplier.
According to the new framework, tariffs from August onwards will not have an adjustment clause and will be announced in advance by all suppliers, while consumers will be able to change supplier without conditions. September tariffs will be announced by August 20.
