This week, Microsoft introduced a test version of a major update to the Edge browser with built-in neural networks. Everyone can already try it not only on Windows, but also on Mac. Now it has become known that Opera, a popular niche browser, will soon join the trend of introducing AI everywhere. The upcoming integration of the neurogenerative language model ChatGPT was announced by the parent company Kunlun Tech, reports CNBC.
It is not currently known if ChatGPT will appear in all Opera products or only in the main browser. In addition to the standard Opera, the developer offers mobile versions for Android and iOS and a separate gaming branch of Opera GX. It is assumed that the function will be free, but there is no exact data yet.
According to statistics from the analytical agency StatCounter for January 2023, Google Chrome retains the largest share of the browser market – 65.4%. In second place is Microsoft Edge with 4.5%. Opera ranks sixth in the world with 2.4%. Kunlun Tech’s shares are up more than 40% in a year, while Opera shares are up 10%. The audience of active users of Opera as of today is an impressive 321 million people per month.
