Huawei today told in what direction the technologies for determining vital indicators in branded smartwatches will develop. As it turned out, Huawei is currently working on three studies, which are already this year being transformed into the built-in algorithms of a new generation of smart watches – Huawei Watch 3 and Watch GT 3.
The first study deals with hypertension. Currently, arterial hypertension is one of the most common chronic conditions, which serves as a trigger for the development of various cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. It is also called the “invisible health killer”. Huawei is conducting research on hypertension with leading medical institutions in China, and its goal is to further improve the accuracy of blood pressure measurement, as well as to develop an active blood pressure management system – from screening to early automatic warning.
The second study is continuous active monitoring of body temperature. The company is going to use high-precision sensors in its new smartwatches, which, based on the temperature of the wrist and using a special compensation algorithm, will calculate the temperature of the whole body. In addition to highly accurate continuous body temperature detection, the smartwatch will be able to verify abnormal body temperature conditions. And do it automatically.
Finally, the third study is also very important. Huawei wants to teach its smartwatch to detect the state of coronary vessels and thus prevent conditions such as angina pectoris or myocardial infarction.
These functions will be implemented in finished devices one after another, as they become available. But all three are likely to appear in smartwatches of the Huawei Watch 3 and Watch GT 3 lines.
