New gasoline and diesel values ​​take effect this Wednesday; see how they look

Petrobras’ new values ​​for the sale of gasoline and diesel to distributors will take effect this Wednesday (12), after an announcement made by the state-owned company the day before.

On Tuesday afternoon, the company said that the adjustment comes after 77 days without highs. Since the announcement of an increase in the price of fuel, on October 26, the price of gasoline has already been reduced by R$ 0.10 per liter, in December, and the price of diesel has remained stable, he adds.

With the change announced by the state-owned company, the average sale price of gasoline to distributors will rise from R$3.09 to R$3.24 per liter. At gas stations, Petrobras’ share of the consumer price will rise from R$2.26, on average, to R$2.37 for each liter sold at the pump. A variation of R$ 0.11 per liter.

For diesel, Petrobras’ average sales price to distributors will rise from R$3.34 to R$3.61 per liter. At gas stations, Petrobras’ share of the consumer price will rise from R$3.01, on average, to R$3.25 for each liter sold at the pump. A variation of R$ 0.24 per liter.

The reduction in the price of oil seen at the end of last year was already seen by the market as temporary, due to the restrictions of the Ômicron variant of the coronavirus in the economy. The barrel of the commodity ended the year down, at around US$ 74.

However, as economic agents realized that the micron would be less serious than it initially appeared, the demand for oil rose again, boosting the reference values ​​in futures contracts to around US$ 80, as explained by the economics analyst at CNN Priscila Yazbeck.

It is worth mentioning that Petrobras practices the policy of parity of prices with the international market, since Brazil is not self-sufficient in production, that is, it has to import a part to supply the domestic market.
