United States approves pill against new coronavirus

The US Regulatory Agency has approved the emergency use of Pfizer’s Pill against Covid-19. The drug, called Paxlovid, is the first oral treatment for the disease to be approved in the country. The medication should only be used with a doctor’s prescription and should start within five days of the onset of symptoms.

Ipea revises GDP forecast

The Institute for Applied Economic Research (Ipea), an agency linked to the Ministry of Economy, revised the forecast for the country’s GDP result for 2022. The growth estimate dropped from 1.8% to 1.1%. Ipea also revised down its growth forecast for 2021, from 4.8% to 4.3%.

Federal Revenue Delegates deliver positions

Delegates and heads of division of the Internal Revenue Service handed over the positions, after the decision to readjust the police. Public servants charged the government to pay a bonus associated with productivity, but the amount was not included in the final text of the budget.

UK confirms over 100,000 Covid-19 cases in one day

The UK has confirmed more than 100,000 cases of Covid-19 in a single day for the first time. The country registered a 58.9% increase in confirmed cases in the last seven days. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson did not rule out imposing more restrictive measures after Christmas.

Bolsonaro sanctions gas aid

President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) signed the bill that provides credit for gas relief. The program allocates R$300 million to the Ministry of Citizenship. The perspective is that the benefit will reach more than 5 million families.
