New Home Sales Decrease 18.2% in February vs. -6.5% Expected

New home sales in the US fell 18.2% in February at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 775,000, data published jointly by the US Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development showed Tuesday. This reading comes after the January increase of 3.2% and did not meet market expectations of a 6.5% drop by a wide margin.

“Median sales price for new homes sold in February 2021 was $ 349,400,” the publication reads. “The median sale price was $ 416,000.”
