New images show a meeting between victim and suspect of abuse in a nightclub in Rio; look

A CNN had exclusive access to the images that show from the moment the Uruguayan woman who reported a gang rape in a nightclub in Rio de Janeiro meets a Brazilian until the moment she leaves the nightclub, located in Lapa, in the region central city of Rio de Janeiro.

On Friday (12), after 11 days of investigation, the Civil Police concluded that there was no gang rape. Five people were investigated. After hearing witnesses and analyzing the establishment's security cameras, the Women's Assistance Police Station opened an investigation only against the boy with whom the young woman claimed to have had a consensual relationship.

This is because the toxicological report from the Legal Medical Institute (IML) showed that the victim had used drugs, not being able to discern consent to the act. The corpus delicti confirmed that there was sexual intercourse. The police asked for the boy's arrest for rape of a vulnerable person.

In the new images, it is possible to see that the two meet for the first time at 3:51 am on March 31st. They hug and talk for a while. About 15 minutes later, they walk hand in hand through the corridor between the outdoor area and the stage on the dance floor on the first floor of the nightclub. Afterwards, the young people go to the second floor of the establishment.

At 4:06 am, the Uruguayan woman walks hand in hand with the boy into the hallway that leads to the bathroom and the dark room, a room for couples to meet. To the Women's Commission of the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro (Alerj), the girl said that she agreed to go to the most reserved space and that the sexual relationship she had with the boy was consensual, but that she was later abused by a number of men which he wouldn't know how to need, since he lost consciousness.

The internal circuit showed that 27 minutes after entering, the two left the dark room together. They go down to the first floor and pass the camera in front of the entrance, until they separate: he stops in front of his friends, at the bar on the main floor, while she continues towards the outside area of ​​the club.

A few minutes later, the victim goes to her friend, reaches into her bag and they talk for a few seconds before heading towards the outdoor corridor. Then, they stop in front of the hat shop and the friend uses the phone, possibly making calls.

Afterwards, an employee offers a chair to the foreigner, who seems nervous. Security guards are called and the girl is taken, moments later, to the management room.

There, the CNN It also showed exclusively that, very nervous, the victim said that his cell phone was stolen. The boy she had a relationship with is found by security guards. In the middle of the conversation about the phone's disappearance, the question arises about possible abuse. The victim then claims that the relationship the two had was consensual. However, she says that she would have been touched by other people during the time she was in the dark room.

The young man is released after the girl states that she consented to the relationship. And the security guards take the girl to the exit of the nightclub to report the cell phone theft. Once on the street, she gives up her registration. The abuse report was made two days later.

The Uruguayan is now back in her home country. In a statement, the nightclub Portal Club reported that as soon as it became aware of the case, it provided support to the victim, taking her to the management room, where she received the necessary support. “We, at Portal Club Rio, wish that the true culprits are prosecuted and judged within the strictness of the law”, wrote those responsible for the nightclub.
