New in Rio, Marinho Atlântica reinforces nightlife in Copacabana

In February, the Atlantic Navy a bar-restaurant that draws attention for its high-spirited atmosphere, good snacks and an outdoor deck where you can have an incredible view of the sea – all just right for a post-beach.

The instant buzz around the place is also the result of the team of partners, who work in the entertainment segment, including Mario Filippo, known as Marinho, from the famous Carnival group Spanta Neném.

To sign the menu recipes, the owners summoned the chef Meguru Baba from São Paulo living in Rio and creator of Coltivi, in Botafogo.

The friendly chef of Japanese descent filled the menu with bar delights. One of the highlights is the Scotch egg – thecock egg -, which in Brazil we affectionately call bolovo. The savory (R$ 19 a unit) has a boiled egg with a creamy yolk wrapped in well-seasoned ground beef.

You can continue the bar with cracklings (R$30), garlic bread (R$22), chicken heart (R$38), meat, egg and black olive pastel (R$15; two units), or the full-bodied seafood broths (R$16) and black bean and bacon broths (R$16).

For those who don’t want to go overboard with calories, the tasty white fish ceviche of the day (R$42) is a good option.

On the alcoholic side of the menu, don’t miss the tempting shakes, such as honey, ginger and lemon (R$12), coconut and passion fruit (R$16) and paçoca (R$14), sales champion.

It is also worth investing in the bartender’s signature cocktails Andy Tavares (former Emiliano and former Copacabana Palace). Tip: the so-called aquino (R$29), a refreshing reinterpretation of the mojito, prepared with gin, papaya cordial, lime and mint in a tall glass with ice.

On Saturday afternoons, until 6pm, there is a feijoada buffet (R$120), which includes desserts (pumpkin and milk jams), tapas and live music.
