New investigation requests and changes increase pressure on Petrobras

Earlier this week, Petrobras became the target of two lawsuits filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) to investigate the possible leak of information about the departure of José Mauro Ferreira Coelho from the company’s command and a “suspicious movement” involving the trading in state shares.

In addition, in Congress, allies of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) are articulating to join signatures to a request to open a Petrobras CPI, and parliamentarians also defend changes in the Law on State-owned Companies and in the company’s statute as possible ways to expand the government participation in company decisions.
