New Israeli shelling of Gaza as war enters ninth month

Israel struck a refugee camp in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, following a deadly attack on a UN-run school the day before, as the war with Hamas entered its ninth month. The war, which broke out on October 7 after Hamas’s unprecedented attack on Israel, has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians, flattened much of the Gaza Strip and uprooted most of the enclave’s 2.4 million residents, the who are now facing the risk of famine.
