New Japanese Yū! joins Itaim’s team of trendy restaurants

In one of the busiest streets in the neighborhood of Itaim Bibi Jerônimo da Veiga, Grupo Saints – in charge of Tartuferia San Paolo, Tuy Cocina, Boteco São Bento and São Conrado Bar -, now inaugurates the Yū Restaurant .

The place draws attention right on the façade, with an installation of Kanji (Japanese letters) in LED. There, the house already makes clear what diners will find: a modern environment, with industrial-style decor, very low light, with the right to an area where the ceilings open on the hottest days.

Plus, of course, an elegant sushi bar with a wooden screen and a beautiful welcome print.

The chef is in charge of the kitchen. Jose Maria Azevedo (formerly Nagayama and Ohka), who prepared a menu of Japanese cuisine combined with touches of modernity and, of course, some original items.

To start, there are wagyu gyoza (R$ 71 with six units), funai tamago, which is a breaded boiled egg seasoned with salmon roe and truffle sauce (R$ 42), and more basic items such as belly carpaccio. from salmon (R$ 76) and octopus (R$ 81) to an exquisite centella tartar (king crab) seasoned with truffle sauce and caviar (R$ 153).

In the sashimi section, expect items such as lobster also with truffle sauce and caviar (R$102), scallops (R$50), salmon (R$29 with six units) and delicacies such as bluefin (6 units – price of the day). ) and torus (6 units – price of the day).

Among the special sushi pairs, it is worth tasting the s ushi do azê a chef’s special sushi that is served on seaweed with rice, ctempura and smoked salmon on top with tarê sauce (R$ 35), or the one named after the house, which comes with salmon, shimeji and foie gras sealed with tarê sauce (R$ 45).

Completes the menu with numerous options for jo such as tuna with foie gras and tarê sauce (R$ 48), scallop with smoked salmon (R$ 48), salmon with quail egg (R$ 38), as well as assorted niguiris.

For those who don’t like to choose item by item, a good option is the chef’s special combo (R$190), which comes with 20 units between salmon belly, tuna, octopus and drumsticks.

Sweeten your palate with the dessert that also bears the name of the house, Yū, an Instagrammable ­ 56% cocoa chocolate sphere, filled with matcha brownie, red fruit jelly, caramel and caramelized almonds (R$ 58).

The drinks menu is on account of the Laércio Zulu with signature and classic drinks.

Among the creations for the house are Katana (Sake Kuromatsu, Vermut Sherry, Zacapa 23 and sugar blade with Japanese pepper, R$ 46), Kasato Maru (Sake Kurapack, Visinata Cherry, Capim Santo, Green Tea and slice of Pear infused de Licor 43, R$46), Kochi (Ketel One, Yuzu juice, Honey, Shisô and Matchá, R$46) and Asian Style (Tanqueray, Tonic Water, Sicilian and Shisô, R$46).
