New Justices of the STJ are appointed for the criminal area and public law

The newly sworn in at the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), Messod Azulay Neto and Paulo Sérgio Domingues, were appointed to compose the Court’s classes and sessions.

Azulay will compose the Third Section and the Fifth Panel, criminal law collegiate bodies. He takes over the collection that was under the ownership of the summoned judge Jesuíno Rissato.

Paulo Sérgio Domingues will join the public law collegiate bodies –the First Section and the First Panel–, taking over the collection that belonged to the summoned judge Manoel de Oliveira Erhardt.

In a solemn session this Tuesday (6), the two took office at the Court.

The new ministers were chosen by the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), in a list drawn up by the Full Court of the STJ on May 11. On November 22, the Senate approved the nomination, and the nomination was published by the Official Gazette on the 24th.
