The Korean company Kia spoke about the ongoing preparations for the start of sales in Russia of a new family of Kia Ceed cars.
The updated Kia Ceed has already passed the tests provided for certification in the Russian market, and received the “Vehicle Type Approval” (OTTS). By the end of this year, the updated five-door Ceed hatchback and the Ceed Sportswagon (SW) wagon will be presented in Russia. The urban coupe-crossover XCeed in the 2022 model year version will also enter the Russian market – simultaneously with the release of the updated Ceed and Ceed SW.
With the update, the Ceed five-door hatchback and Ceed Sportswagon (SW) get a new Kia logo, as well as a redesigned design with sporty accents and updated equipment.
In a number of trim levels of the hatchback and station wagon, a complex of telematic services Kia Connect is regularly installed, with an expanded set of functions with access to navigation services. The cars will also receive a fresh version of the Drive Wise security and driver assistance system.
The 1.4 T-GDI engine was replaced by a new 1.5 T-GDI engine from the Smartstream line with direct fuel injection and turbocharging, increased torque (up to 253 N • m). The engine is mated to a 7DCT robotic seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Unlike the European version with 160 hp, the 1.5 T-GDI for the Russian market has a capacity of 150 hp. with. – This indicator takes into account the current taxation system for a lower vehicle tax rate. Versions with a 1.6 MPI engine (128 hp, 154.6 Nm) will also be available in combination with an automatic 6-speed transmission.
