New MacBook Pro with Apple M1 Max SoC shows impressive Geekbench performance

The first test results of the Apple MacBook Pro laptop, which is based on the Apple M1 Max single-chip system, have appeared. The device has appeared in the database of the popular Geekbench benchmark application.

The 14- and 16-inch models received the M1 Pro and M1 Max SoCs, respectively. According to Apple, the new SoC is capable of delivering about 70% faster processor performance over the M1. The GPU manufacturer has increased by about 4 times compared to the Apple M1.

Geekbench confirms that the MacBook Pro with SoC Apple M1 Max scored 1,749 points in the single-core test. However, the SoC shows a significant improvement in the Geekbench multi-core test, where the platform scored 11,542 points. That’s double the size of the Apple M1.

MacRumors said the Apple M1 Max failed to outperform the Mac Pro and iMac, which are powered by high-performance Intel Xeon processors with 16-24 cores. Apple’s new M1 Max platform supports 64GB of unified memory and can deliver up to 400GB / s of memory bandwidth. In addition, the 5nm chip contains 57 billion transistors, which is 70% more than the M1 Pro. This is 3.5 times more than the M1.
