The German carmaker BMW has presented its new compact car under the MINI brand on the Russian market. This is the new MINI John Cooper Works, which the creators claim will provide its owner with extreme driving pleasure.
BMW calls the MINI John Cooper Works the best sports car in the premium compact model category and the update brings it even more sleek design and enhanced equipment. Engineers have added new LED optics and a hexagonal radiator grille with a bright red insert, enlarged air intakes for even more efficient engine cooling and built a diffuser into the rear bumper to optimize under-floor airflow. In the basic configuration, the car is installed on 17-inch alloy wheels, but as an option, you can choose wheels with a diameter of 18 inches. There are also four body color options to choose from: Chili Red, Rebel Green, Island Blue metallic and Rooftop Gray metallic.
Among the features of the updated MINI, in addition to a minimalistic design with thoughtful ergonomics, a new infotainment system with a central 8.8-inch display and a modern operating system, an adaptive suspension with variable frequency valves (optional) and a new braking system from Brembo are included.
Hiding under the hood of the MINI John Cooper Works is a 2-liter MINI TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine with 321 hp. and a torque of 320 Nm. The company, depending on the version chosen, is either a six-speed manual, which allows it to accelerate to a hundred in 6.3 seconds, or an eight-speed automatic transmission Steptronic Sport, which reduces the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km / h to 6.1 seconds. The maximum speed reaches 246 km / h, and the consumption declared by the manufacturer does not exceed 9.3 liters per 100 km in city mode with manual transmission.
The start of sales of the new MINI John Cooper Works on the Russian market is scheduled for May 2021. Prices start at 2.75 million rubles for a car in basic configuration.
