The presentation of The Weeknd in Brazil is almost here. A concert by the musician is scheduled to take place on Saturday (7), at the MorumBIS stadium, in the south of the city of São Paulo. On social media, some people speculate that the pop artist will also perform during the half-time of the first game of the National Football League (NFL) on Brazilian soil, which takes place this Friday (6).
The musician’s show will be broadcast on YouTube to the entire world, which led fans to believe that the performance will be grand and full of surprises.
Equipment and stage props for the show have been arriving in São Paulo since last week, which increases rumors that the show will be very different from anything the artist has done before.
The last time the musician was in Brazil was in October 2023, when he performed twice on the “After Hours” tour, which mainly featured songs from the albums “After Hours” (2020) and “Dawn FM” (2022), the latest released by the star.
The expectation is that The Weeknd will sing at least some of the new repertoire. Last Wednesday (4), the musician released, through social media, his new studio album. The project is titled “Hurry Up Tomorrow” and promises to close the trilogy that began with the two previously released albums.
“A new path awaits. When today comes to an end, I will discover who I am,” he wrote about the new album.
The Weeknd in the NFL?
Speculation about The Weeknd appearing at the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers game began after the musician shared a teaser about the event on his own Instagram profile.
The song playing in the background of the recording is sung by the musician and has not yet been released, which also contributes to the possibility of the show in Brazil having a taste of the musician’s new era. Based on the comments on the official teaser post, users also raised the possibility of an appearance by Anitta. Neither of them has been confirmed at the event so far.
