EFKA launched today the new electronic service “Checking the insurance capacity of the Unemployed” where the self-employed, self-employed and farmers who for any reason do not receive timely insurance capacity can submit a request and be reimbursed immediately if they meet the conditions. The online service is available through the website of EFKA and the entry is made using TAXISNET codes and registration of AMKA.
At the same time, with a legislative provision passed yesterday in the Parliament, the insurance capacity of all non-employed of e-EFKA, self-employed, self-employed and farmers as well as their indirect members, was automatically extended from March 1 to May 31, 2022, regardless of debts and fulfillment of conditions on their part.
It is emphasized that the above regulation concerns exclusively the self-employed. Employees who did not complete at least 50 stamps in the previous year lost their insurance capacity as required by law.
What is valid from June 1st
The same legal provision provides for another favorable arrangement for the self-employed regarding the repayment of the minimum amount of their debts required to continue to have insurance capacity. Specifically, from June 1, the self-employed who have debts to EFKA and KEAO, will continue to have insurance capacity, if they have paid within 2021 or pay within 2022, retroactively for the year 2021, an amount corresponding to the annual contribution for benefits in kind and in cash, according to the insurance category they had chosen for the year 2021. That is, they can only for this year receive annual insurance capacity by repaying the minimum amount required and covering the benefits in kind and money.
Finally, it is emphasized that those who are not employed or have not paid the above amount by the end of May, their insurance capacity will not be renewed.
