The new prices per liter of gasoline and diesel sold by Petrobras to distributors will take effect this Wednesday (1st).
The state-owned company announced on the eve a reduction in values, which went from R$ 3.31 to R$ 3.18 per liter, in the case of gasoline (a drop of 3.9%), and from R$ 4.10 to R$ 4.02, in the case of diesel A (fall of 1.9%).
It is the second time that the price of diesel is reduced in February alone, when it fell 8.8%, the first drop since Jean Paul Prates was appointed president of the state-owned company.
In December, the price of fuel had already been reduced by 8.2%.
Gasoline, on the other hand, had an increase of 7.46% in the average price per liter announced in January, in what was the first decision in the state-owned company under the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
This Tuesday’s announcement comes amid the government’s increased expectations for a drop in the price of gasoline at refineries, to offset part of the fuel re-encumbrance.
In a note, the state-owned company informed that, considering the mandatory mixture of 73% A gasoline and 27% anhydrous ethanol for the composition of the gasoline sold at the stations, Petrobras’ share in the consumer price will be, on average, R$ 2, 32 for every liter sold at the pump.
With regard to diesel, considering the mandatory mix of 90% of type A fuel and 10% of biodiesel for sale at service stations, Petrobras’ share in the consumer price will be, on average, R$ 3.62 for each liter sold at bomb.
“These reductions have as their main guideline the search for the balance of Petrobras prices in the national and international markets, through a gradual convergence, contemplating the main supply alternatives for our customers and the necessary market share for the optimization of assets”, he says. in note.
