New production of “Singing in the Rain” promises to make it rain on stage

A new montage of the 1952 cinema classic “Singing in the Rain “promises to do”to rain on the stage during the play. The production premieres on April 4th at Teatro Sergio Cardoso, in the center of São Paulo.

The musical takes place in Hollywood in the late 1920s. Silent film stars Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont experience the impossible transition to talkies, due to Lina's high-pitched voice, which makes the audience laugh.

The production mixes doses of comedy, dance and tap dancing, building a romance plot between Don and Lina.

“Certainly those who already know the film will be even more enchanted by this new production. The new version has much more comedy, choreography and glamour”, comments John Stefaniuk, Broadway director heading the production.

The cast is made up of 25 well-known actors and actresses from the world of musical theater in São Paulo.
