Electricity prices set a new record high tomorrow as the average price stands at 697.25 euros per megawatt hour with the high reaching 871 euros.
It is recalled that the prices of the Stock Exchange are not passed on to consumers as since July a ceiling has been imposed on the prices per megawatt hour collected by power producers, depending on the technology.
Consumer prices for September were announced last week and combined with the government subsidy the price per kilowatt hour is reduced to below 15 cents for most suppliers and there are cases of single digit or even zero charges.
Electricity demand tomorrow Monday is forecast to reach 319 gigawatt hours and is mainly covered by natural gas plants (45.9%), renewable sources (19.8%), lignite (16.3%) and hydroelectric (8.4%) ). The increase in prices is a result of the jump in the price of natural gas on the Dutch Stock Exchange above 300 euros per megawatt hour.
