New rumors about Erdogan’s health: He canceled the big and expensive rally in Bursa

A sudden change of plans by Recep Tayyip Erdogan, he will not make a speech on Sunday 3/7 at a large planned rally in Bursa, sparking new rumors about his health.

According to ERT, there was no announcement from the Turkish presidency, with a local member of his party speaking of a joint pregnancy. On social media, however, unconfirmed rumors about paresis on the left side of his face are rife.

The city was prepared and decorated with flags, the parking lots were empty and the streets were green since yesterday just because Erdogan was coming. In fact, the huge convoy of his escort cars had already been transported by special trucks to Bursa.

The expenses and all the preparations are said to have amounted to 2.5 million Turkish liras (€145,000).

There has been no official announcement from the Turkish presidency, but AKP MP for the Bursa region, Refik Ozen, said the meeting was postponed due to the president’s “common cold”. “The health of our President is more important than anything else,” Ozen said.

The announcement of the postponement of the gathering was made by the head of the office of the ruling party in Bursa, Davut Gurkan in KMD. The related post said: “The Bursa Meeting, which was to be held in the presence of our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the opening ceremonies of our Private and Public Institutions, has been postponed to a later date with the approval of our President.”

According to MP Ozen who was connected by phone to a broadcast of a local Bursa television channel, President Erdogan could not attend the programs because of “a cold. I hope he recovers as soon as possible.”

In the meantime, on Turkish social media, there are rumors that the Turkish president has suffered partial paralysis on the left side of the face, but this has not been confirmed so far.
