New sanctions from the US divert tankers with Russian oil from Indian ports

At least two ships loaded with Russian oil to India’s refineries have been diverted to other destinations after new US sanctions, have reported commercial sources and showed the LSEG trade flows, which is a leading global financial provider of financial infrastructure and data. The US Department of Finance this week has imposed penalties on more than 115 Iran, faces, businesses and ships many of which are involved in the transport of Russian oil. US President Donald Trump has warned countries to stop buying oil from Moscow, threatening 100% duty unless Russia agrees to reach a major peace agreement with Ukraine.
