New stylus Apple Pencil showed live for the first time

A reputable source has posted a real photo of the new Apple Pencil, which is due to be announced alongside the new iPad Pro.

The third-generation Apple Pencil will revert to the sleek first-generation stylus design. Recall that the second generation Apple Pencil had a matte finish. Otherwise, the new stylus is similar to the current version, while being shorter than the original stylus. It attaches to the side of the iPad with magnets and charges in this position.

The image also shows a replacement tip. MacRumors notes that unlike previous models that have small screw nibs, the new stylus uses a larger nib option. A patent released last month suggests the new stylus will get support for new gestures.

Apple is expected to unveil the new iPad Pro this month. The new tablet will be equipped with a 5nm A14X Bionic SoC, which will deliver performance on par with the Apple M1 SoC. In addition to the A14X Bionic, another major innovation on the iPad Pro 5 should be the mini-LED display, which will provide deeper blacks, saturation, higher brightness and contrast.

While the performance and screen should be significantly improved, the iPad Pro 5 won’t change much in appearance. The screen will receive reduced bezels, the front camera will be located above the display.
