A new heat wave begins to settle across Brazil starting this weekend with temperatures that contrast with the cold seen in several regions of the country in the first half of the month. This time, the high temperatures should continue until the 22nd.
According to Climatempo, a new mass of dry air should intensify the heat, raising thermometers in some cities in the country . The forecast indicates that in São Paulo, the maximum temperature should be 31°C, with no forecast of rain, this Saturday (17).
Still in the Southeast region, the maximum temperature in Rio de Janeiro should be 33°C. The maximum temperature in Vitória (ES) and Belo Horizonte (MG) should be 29°C and 32°C, respectively.
In the capital of Paraná, Curitiba, the maximum temperature is expected to be 30°C at the beginning of the weekend. Florianópolis is expected to register 25°C, while in Porto Alegre the thermometers are expected to be slightly lower than in the other southern capitals, marking 21°C.
In BrasÃlia, the weather is expected to be sunny, with a maximum temperature forecast of 31°C this Saturday. Also in the Center-West, Goiânia (GO) and Campo Grande (MS) are expected to reach 37°C. In Cuiabá (MT), the maximum temperature is expected to be 41°C, with a possible temperature of 42°C next Tuesday (20).
In the Northeast, João Pessoa (PB) and Recife (PE) record 29°C. With high temperatures, Aracaju (SE) will reach 27°C, Natal (RN) will register 30°C, Maceió (AL) 28°C, Salvador (BA) 26°C, Fortaleza (CE) 31°C, São LuÃs (MA) 32°C and Teresina (PI) will record the highest temperature in the region this Saturday, with the thermometer reaching 36°C.

The northern capitals will also experience high temperatures on Saturday. In Macapá (AP), the maximum temperature could reach 34°C, as well as in Boa Vista (RR).
The maximum temperature will be 36°C in Rio Branco (AC) and Palmas (TO). In Belém (PA), Porto Velho (RO) and Manaus (AM), the maximum temperature can reach 34°C, 35°C and 35°C, in that order.
With high temperatures across the country, air quality will be on alert in the coming days. In several regions of Brazil, relative humidity can fall below 20% causing the population to face dry air conditions, which contribute to respiratory problems and increase the risk of forest fires.
