North Korea launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) that crashed inside the Japanese EEZ on Thursday. South Korean President Moon Jae-in confirmed that the rocket fired from Pyongyang in an easterly direction from the peninsula to the Sea of Korea, or Sea of Japan, was indeed an ICBM.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has maintained a moratorium on missile launches of this type from the end of 2017 until yesterday.
