New wildfire burns near Bel-Air neighborhood in Los Angeles

Firefighters battled another fire in Los Angeles that started on Wednesday night (22).

The Sepulveda wildfire was burning near the upscale Bel-Air neighborhood near Highway 405 in Sepulveda Pass.

Aerial footage showed several fire engines at the scene as firefighters tried to put out the fire with hoses.

Helicopters cruised across the giant blaze to drop water on the raging flames that could be seen from miles away.

The Los Angeles Fire Department issued an evacuation notice, news outlets reported.

Trump goes to California

President Donald Trump said he will visit California on Friday to assess the damage caused by the devastating wildfires.

“I want to send our love to everyone affected by the terrible wildfires raging in California,” he said.

Trump previously said he has not spoken to California Gov. Gavin Newsom since the wildfires began, but he sharply criticized the governor and other Democratic officials for their fire response and called them “incompetent.”

Meanwhile, former Vice President Kamala Harris flew to Los Angeles on Monday afternoon, visited a fire station and distributed food to community members affected by the wildfires.

Harris is from California and, before being vice president, served as a U.S. senator representing California and the state’s attorney general.
