Microsoft, with the recent cumulative update of Windows 10, has activated for all users a personalized news feed on the taskbar with the News and Interests widget, which has been spreading very slowly until now.
But, interestingly, the new taskbar innovation has already become more functional than the first users. Previously, users were only allowed to hide or enable the ribbon in the taskbar menu. With the new update, it is possible to enable or disable the Open On Hover feature, which launches the ribbon when you hover over an icon.
This tiny change can prevent accidental opening and improve the overall experience of the News & Interests widget. Also, judging by user feedback, Microsoft has improved the quality of the ribbon and animation, especially when you hover over the weather icon.
Microsoft is already testing other feed improvements in preview builds of Windows 10 version 21H2. For example, in one test build, Microsoft included a new colorful design for the taskbar ribbon that makes it easier to quickly see the headings.
