New wine bar Andolini unites breads and wines in the Pinheiros neighborhood

From a vacation trip to Mendoza, Argentina, Tiago Trigo returned to Brazil with a suitcase full of bottles of wine and a head full of decisions, among them, that it was time to undertake and change careers.

It was then that he joined his friend and also a journalist Maurio Galera a newly graduated baker who had already conquered a small clientele behind his naturally-fermented breads, and that was it, the idea came naturally.

With the enchantment of the world of wines by one and the passion for breads by the other, the Andolini Bread & Wine.

“We want our customers to enjoy pleasure, comfort and relaxation, provided by the combination of the breads we produce, accompanied by caponatas, charcuterie and special Brazilian cheeses”, says Tiago.

In addition to the customer being able to choose bread and eggs to take home, the place also has tables for those who want to enjoy it right there, in a space without much frills with an industrial feel, but with a pleasant atmosphere.

The menu offers options of cheese boards and charcuterie, accompanied by homemade Italian bread, as well as focaccia – one of the items that Máurio is most proud of along with the bologna and multigrain bread.

“Bread is an alchemy of just four ingredients: natural yeast, flour, water and salt. No shortcuts, no chemistry. And, of course, patience and attention”, he enthuses.

To accompany the partner’s recipes, Tiago created the wine list with an important premise: to combine great wines with prices that are accessible to all budgets.

“Of course, we will have suggestions for harmonizing there – many clients want us to be curators of their choices – however, wine and bread are free: what suits your taste best is the perfect pairing”, agree the partners.

Among the labels are the Spanish El Torito, a tempranillo that pleases everyone and is often in the daily choice of glasses available, South African wines, such as the Busy Bee and classics such as Italian Chianti and French Bordeaux and wine that pleases the Brazilian palate and is already a classic here: the Argentine malbec.

The breads cost between R$29 and R$49; the glasses are in the range of R$ 15; and the price range of bottles between R$59 and R$180.
