New world record in India with more than 386,000 cases of coronavirus

Another world record was broken by India, as the Ministry of Health announced another 386,452 cases coronavirus, while in the last 24 hours 3,498 deaths were recorded.

THE India has recorded some 7.7 million infections since the end of February, when the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, which has plunged the giant Asian country into an unprecedented health crisis, began to accelerate. It took six months to record the previous 7.7 million cases.

The death toll from the new coronavirus pandemic in India has now risen to 208,330, with infections exceeding 18.7 million.

Help arrived from the US

The first quantities of American medical aid arrived today in India, a country that has been faced with a catastrophic outbreak of cases and deaths due to Covid-19.

A military plane carrying more than 400 oxygen cylinders, hospital equipment and nearly a million diagnostic tests landed at New Delhi International Airport, the Indian capital plunged into an unprecedented health crisis.

India has a record number of infections in April, with more than 370,000 cases and 3,600 deaths a day.

A large-scale international relief operation has been launched by many countries that have pledged their assistance.

The US delegation follows talks this week between US President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The United States will send more than $ 100 million worth of medical supplies in the coming days to help India, State Department spokesman Ned Price said yesterday.

U.S. officials said the special flights, which will also carry equipment and supplies provided by businesses and individuals, will resume next week.
