It is curious that in the year in which no square will be crowded on New Year’s Eve due to the restrictions imposed by the Dpcm, the most crowded audiences will be those on television. In fact, on December 31, 2020, several live specials are scheduled to welcome the new year with the hope of regaining all that the last one deprived us of. The Raiuno tradition is carried on once again by the usual appointment with The coming year conducted by Amadeus which, however, precisely because of the epidemic, will not be held in Terni, but in the Rai Fabrizio Frizzi studios.
Together with the conductor, already at the starting line for the Sanremo 2021 Festival, there will be many musical guests accompanied by the band directed by Maestro Stefano Palatresi. To create a precedent for the television New Year’s Eve is, however, Canale 5 which, at the last, decides to give up the party led by Federica Panicucci and to bet, cunningly, on a title already in existence and in need of relaunch: the Big Brother Vip. In fact, starting from 21, Alfonso Signorini will conduct a special episode of the reality show in which there will be no nominations and eliminations, but only lots of music, lots of games and lots of guests.
Another novelty is also it Speciale Propaganda Night conducted by Diego Bianchi on La7: it is the first time that a current affairs program is transformed into an entertainment show to celebrate the new year and we are sure that the team led by Zoro and Makkox will be able to surprise us by offering an alternative show that will not disappoint the expectations. The other networks respond, however, with the Circus Festival of Montecarlo, which will be broadcast as always on Raitre with the conduct of Melissa Greta Marchetto starting at 21, and with a series of films, from Alvin Superstar 3 on Raidue a What Women Want on Rete 4, who will try to keep the Italians most intolerant of the count-down company (for the diehards we also point out those jokers of Italia 1 who have seen fit to transmit Indipendence Day: a subliminal message that the Earth is still standing?).
