The holiday season has arrived, but the pandemic has not let up. Brazil has already confirmed 27 cases of the Ômicron variant, in five states and the Federal District. In addition, an off-season outbreak of Influenza A already affects at least 12 units of the federation.
The situation is a warning sign for the risk of new congestion in health posts and hospitals, but it is also a sign that hygiene and distance measures have not been adopted by the population.
Therefore, managers have been adopting measures such as canceling public celebrations and charging for vaccination passports. Still, the demand for tourist destinations has increased and private parties, gatherings in public places and family gatherings are free. Specialists fear a possible new wave of admissions.
But what precautions should we take so that the holiday season doesn’t have a tragic end? Who answers these and other questions, in today’s episode, is the infectologist Jamal Suleiman, from Instituto Emílio Ribas.
