THE mayor of New York announced on Tuesday that the “voluntary phase is over”.
He was referring to the municipal officials of his city, whom he intends to vaccinate compulsorily, as he at least suggests;

Bill de Blasio’s statements have a red flag for vaccinators. Asked if he intends to ask all municipal officials to be vaccinated, the mayor said that somewhere there the thing goes:
“Yes, we are climbing this ladder. “But I will not answer ‘yes’ to your question at this time,” he told MSNBC. “We have to put pressure on this situation.”
On Monday, de Blasio announced that soon the entire human resources of the municipality will be obliged to pass a weekly test if it is not complete vaccinated against coronavirus.
From August 2, those employees who have not been vaccinated will again be required to wear masks at their workplaces, otherwise they will be put on unpaid leave.
The next day, de Blasio said that until now he had been trying to entice municipal officials with benefits, but that did not work out.
