A totally inappropriate word was heard in her parliament New Zealand when the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern, thought she was not being heard and called her political opponent an “arrogant no…
The offensive comment was heard over the microphones after a question from David Seymour, leader of the opposition ACT party. The Prime Minister disagreed when Seymour asked her to give an example of a “mistake he made, for which he apologized, for which he rightly corrected it». Ardern said there had been several instances where the Labor government had acknowledged there were no “perfect answers”, including its response to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We have openly said, for example, that – the management of isolation and quarantine– it was something that was very difficult at the time and that there were people who were affected by it and that we would do things differently if we were faced with it again,” he added.
Ardern then sat down in her seat and while she thought she couldn’t be heard, she whispered: “Such an arrogant no…y.”
A representative from the prime minister’s office confirmed shortly after that the prime minister apologized to her interlocutor, according to the BBC.
