Next chapter in Skoda history: Vision 7S concept electric car announced

There have been rumors for a long time that Skoda is actively working on the transition to the era of electric cars, but unlike the Volkswagen group, which is just doing a little rebranding of ready-made cars, the brand will produce completely unique vehicles. And yesterday, August 30, Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Skoda, officially confirmed this rumor by presenting the latest Vision 7S electric car to the general public – it is fundamentally different from the manufacturer’s current design language and provides a truly car from the future. And, most interestingly, the Vision 7S concept car is a completely ordinary family car, and not just another sports car or sedan.

It is worth recalling that in 2026, Skoda promises to introduce three electric cars – a compact SUV, a city car and a family model with seven seats. And the last vehicle from the list is planned to be created on the basis of the Vision 7S, so that most of the body and interior elements will reach serial production in the future. For example, on the front side of the car, you can see an unusual shape of the hood, in the recess of which the manufacturer placed the Skoda inscription instead of the usual logo, and on the massive bumper there is the Vision 7S inscription at the installation site of the number (it will probably be removed).

The running lights turned out to be very unusual and probably too narrow, but in general the front of the car is assembled in a typical Skoda design. At the rear of the vehicle, you can see stylish brake lights, still too narrow, as well as two decorative spoilers above the rear window. It is worth adding rather thin door partitions to the interesting elements of the body, which in fact are practically non-existent – a potential buyer will receive almost panoramic windows. True, it is difficult to imagine that such a design would pass the strength test. But the most interesting thing about the car is located inside – the interior was created with an eye on family trips.

There are three rows of seats in the cabin, plus it is possible to accommodate an additional child passenger in a special child seat, which is fixed directly on the central tunnel. This is a rather unusual solution, but in certain scenarios it will be even safer and more comfortable. Also, the manufacturer abandoned the round steering wheel in favor of an oval control, and the display of the multimedia system can be positioned both vertically and horizontally – it is strange that no one had thought of this before. Rounding out the list of innovations are doors that open in the opposite direction from each other.

Skoda Vision 7S, of course, will not get to the release, but it would be interesting to see such a family electric car in the series.
