Continue with the appointment of June 16 the new edition of Wired Next Fest made, as for past editions, in collaboration with Audi. Within a calendar that is divided into 5 thematic appointments over 6 months, the key word, the Red string, which unites all encounters is Balance: many, different and dynamic to face the constantly changing reality of a world grappling with the effects of the pandemic.
It began on April 14 with an appointment dedicated to entertainment and storytelling, enclosed in the word Play. It then continued on May 12 with the theme appointment Social Innovation which recorded over 30,000 visits to the mini-site, 24,100 video views, 385,000 social reach and 636,000 social impressions.
On June 16, we will talk about the Next Generation, or the generation that is preparing to become the protagonist of the present. What age group do you read the most in Italy? The one under 18. According to Istat, the highest share of readers is that of young people: between the ages of 15 and 17 it is equal to 54.5%, an increase compared to 47.1% in 2016. This is just one of the clichés that accompany young people, who, also in view of the application of the ambitious plan of the Next Generation EU, must be increasingly at the center of the debate and the political agenda and an active part in the decision-making process of those choices that will have an impact on their future and on our planet. An event to tell how a generation with many identities – often criticized inappropriately – is preparing to take over society through new values and approaches to innovation.
The day will have three moments dedicated to live music. To perform on the stage of the Gerolamo theater will be i Fast Animals and Slow Kids, Italian alternative rock band that released at the end of April What would he tell us, new single made in collaboration with the singer-songwriter and rapper Willie Peyote, also guest of the day. Also expected the performance of Alfa, stage name of Andrea De Filippi, who after having obtained millions of views on YouTube and plays on Spotify, on May 14th released his first album North. On stage also the oak, a Bolognese band protagonist of the Italian indie scene, which last May released the video of the single bim bum bam.
The other protagonists of the day will be:
Fabiana Dadone, Minister for Youth Policy, Francesco Paulo Marconi, Head of Research and Development of the Wall Street Journal, researcher affiliated with the MIT Media Lab and Fellow at the Columbia University Tow Center, expert in technologies, automation, artificial intelligence, Pietro Minto, journalist, editor of the newsletter “Very beautiful links”, in bookstores with How to get bored better, the Belarusian journalist Hanna Liubakova, who will speak on the political situation in the country months after the street protests and after the arrest of Roman Protasevich, Veronica Barassi, digital anthropologist, professor at Goldsmiths in London and author of “Child Data Citizen: How Tech -Companies are Profiling Us From Before Birth (2020, MIT Press), Elena Marinoni, Senior researcher at Nextatlas, a platform that uses artificial intelligence for predictive monitoring of emerging trends, Clarissa Ciano, young author of Centennial, a journalistic project that it tells of the activism of Generation Z, which is put into play to carry out a new vision of the future; singer-songwriter Luca Gaudiano, winner of Sanremo Giovani 2021 and AIRC Foundation Ambassador, Matteo Massara, AIRC researcher, Université de Lausanne, where he studies and understands how to exploit the immune system as a therapy against cancer and metastases, Francesca Spinelli, journalist international and translator of Amanda Gorman, African American poet, 22, who recited her poem The hill we go up sworn in by US President Joe Biden, Mattia Insolia, journalist and writer, author of The hungry, Viola Di Grado, writer and orientalist, the youngest winner of the Campiello Opera Prima Prize, the writer Claudia Petrucci, author of The exercise, the writer and poet Giorgio Ghiotti, Michele Crisostomo, President of the Enel Group, Adriana Versino, Managing Director of the Vodafone Italia Foundation and head of sustainability at Vodafone Italia, Giorgio Pow3r Calandrelli, e-sport pro player, Lorenzo Fredianelli, Director Digital Payments and Labs, Mastercard, Klaus, content creator and music producer.
The location chosen for all the events of the 2021 edition of Wired Next Fest is the Gerolamo theater in Milan. Theaters, like most places of culture, have been affected more than others by the pandemic, remaining closed. Wired Italia has therefore decided to “reopen” one of these places.
