THE “Ney Matogrosso” exhibition that celebrates the 50 years of career From the artist, he starts this Friday (21), at the Museum of Image and Sound (MIS), in São Paulo.
The show is going through every decade of the artist on stage in a chronological way – from its debut ahead of the group “Dry & Wet” in the 1970s, to their latest album, “Naked With My Music”, released in 2021 .
Divided into six areas, the exhibition shows hundreds of costumes and props used at the singer’s shows and music videos, as well as documents, album covers, posters, CDs and emblematic photographs of all phases of Ney Matogrosso.
The artist’s entire collection of clothing is under maintenance and guard of Senac São Paulo, provided by Ney himself to the institution. In the MIS exhibition, this is the first time that all pieces will be on display, with more than two hundred items.
The show also features scenographic elements made for the movie “Man with H”, the biography of Ney Matogrosso, with Jesuit Barbosa in the lead role, which opens in theaters in March this year.
The curatorship is signed by the director general of MIS, André Sturm, with an expographic project of architects Juan Cabello Arribas and Viviane Sá. The texts of the exhibition are by journalist Julio Maria, author of “Ney Matogrosso – The Biography”.
