Ney Matogrosso, Frejat and Letrux release song in favor of animals

The musicians Ney Matogrosso , Frejat , Letrux , Zahy Tentehar It is Mahmundi released the video for a new song in favor of Brazilian fauna this Wednesday (17). The track, called “Defaunação”, talks about the various animals in the country’s ecosystems and criticizes human actions that result in their deaths.

In the press release, Ney Matogrosso spoke about the experience that led him to become an animal rights activist. “I was a teenager on my grandfather’s farm. I went with a group that went hunting because it was considered normal, hunting for food,” he says. “But the men shot a group of animals and I saw the mothers trying to protect their cubs.”

“They also shot a hawk and I went to help the animal, which was in so much pain that it stuck its claw in my hand and I didn’t have the courage to pull it out,” he continues. “At that moment, I understood everything.”

Frejat talks about how humans are the most dangerous animals alive today. “Man’s vision is selfish and destructive, it’s important to remember that we live with thousands of other species and that we need to respect them,” says the singer. “We are not here alone.”

The music, composed by Carlos Rennó and Péricles Cavalcanti, is conceived by World Animal Protection and the clip was directed by Estúdio Bijari.
