NFT from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection was mistakenly sold for 0.75 ETH

The owner of one of the tokens of the popular NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club collection mistakenly sold it for 0.75 ETH instead of 75 ETH.

The user under the pseudonym maxnaut sealed himself up when entering the sale amount. Immediately after the token was put up for sale, it was bought by a bot. In order to speed up the transaction, the program set a commission of 8 ETH. Thus, to buy a token for $ 3,066, the bot owner spent $ 32,000. However, the new owner of the NFT will not be left behind – the token has already been put up for sale at a price of $ 248,000.

“How did this happen? Looks like I’m just distracted. I post a lot of products every day and just haven’t paid enough attention. As soon as I pressed the mouse button, I immediately realized my mistake. But the bot had already redeemed the token, for this he set a commission of more than 8 ETH, so the transaction was carried out instantly. I didn’t have time to click on cancellation and lost $ 250,000 like that, ”said the previous owner of the token.

Such errors have already happened before and it seems that their number will increase along with the growing popularity of collectible tokens. So, in early November, the owner of NFT CryptoPunk # 7557 tried to set the price at 444 ETH, but accidentally put a dot after the first digit and sold it for 4.444 ETH.

“The industry is very new and bad things will happen through your fault or not even your fault. If you cannot influence the result, then just forget and move on, ”concluded maxnaut.
