The week from July 26 to August 1, 2021 turned out to be a record for the volume of trades in collectible tokens (NFT) – the indicator for the first time exceeded $ 300 million and reached $ 339 million.
The previous record was set quite recently – from 9 to 15 July. Then the NFT trading volume amounted to $ 209.27 million. Thus, the new record was immediately 70% higher than the previous one. Prior to that, the maximum indicator was recorded in February, when the trading volume for the week amounted to $ 197 million.
The main trading volume was carried out with the NFT of the CryptoPunks project – such tokens were bought and sold for $ 207 million.Axie Infinity was in second place, the volume of transactions with collectible tokens of which amounted to $ 127 million.
With a significant margin, the third place was taken by the NBA Top Shot project with a trading volume of $ 4 million. At the same time, the average transaction volume also increased significantly and reached $ 34,600. This is due to expensive purchases of CryptoPunks tokens.
However, the total number of collectible token transactions continues to decline. The maximum number of such transactions was recorded in May, and the largest number of transactions is generated by the NBA Top Shot project.
NFT activity is on the rise with various celebrities and popular brands continuing to launch their own collectible tokens. For example, the Coca-Cola Company recently announced the release of NFT.
