NFT with portrait of Julian Assange to be presented at an exhibition in Venice

An art collection of non-fungible tokens with images of the WikiLeaks founder will be part of the international art exhibition Biennale Arte.

This Cannot Be Erased collection of 111 NFT art was created by popular Greek artist Miltos Manetas, a friend of jailed Julian Assange.

The presentation of the Cannot Be Erased collection at the Venice Biennale will be accompanied by a specially created musical composition for the occasion by British composer Howie B.

“The purpose of the NFT collection is to bring the Assange case back into the public eye, as many major media platforms have simply washed their hands of it in recent years. The consequences of Assange’s imprisonment are far-reaching, threatening press freedom in countries that proudly call themselves liberal democracies,” explains Miltos Manetas.

Proceeds from the sale of the NFT will go to Asange’s support fund and the independent online art pavilion DAO. Each token comes with an original oil-on-canvas painting by Manetas of an online dissident.

The other day, the official Twitter and YouTube accounts of the British Army were hacked and filled with content advertising fake NFT collections The Possessed and BAPESCLAN.
