An auction by the NGO Gerando Falcões raised R$2.3 million at the “Favela Gala” event, which took place in Rio de Janeiro this Monday (1st). It was the first edition of the action, which included the participation of celebrities and businesspeople.
“It was a very important night for Gerando Falcões and the city of Rio de Janeiro. We bring together people engaged in the social change that we seek so much for Brazil. The auction raised a significant amount that will help us finance important projects to overcome poverty and have great social impact”, highlighted Edu Lyra, Founder and CEO of Gerando Falcões.
Among the items auctioned, two lectures by Edu Lyra, a Brazilian entrepreneur and activist, were sold for R$65,000 each. In addition to the lectures, three autographed Vasco t-shirts cost R$50,000 each, an experience at Flamengo was purchased for R$30,000 and one at the Rio Open, with tennis semifinalists, was purchased for R$20,000.
Actress Taís Araújo led the ceremony. The auction was under the responsibility of actress Ingrid Guimarães and businessman and social entrepreneur Henri Zylberstajn. In addition to these celebrities, singers Preta Gil and Roberta Sá were also present at the event. In addition to the actors João Vicente de Castro, Rafael Zulu, Lázaro Ramos, Letícia Spiller, Dira Paes and Cauã Reymond.
