Nick Carter sues women who accuse him of sexual abuse: “Opportunists”

Nick Carter has filed a defamation lawsuit against women who accuse him of sexual violence. The 43-year-old singer has been the target of separate allegations in recent years, and has now refuted the allegations, insisting that the alleged victims are simply trying to obtain financial benefits.

In new court documents obtained by “The Blast,” Carter declared that he will not allow his name to be “tarnished by opportunists seeking to profit from his celebrity status.” The Backstreet Boys member, who vehemently denied the accusations, claims to be a victim of extortion, pointing out that the accusers are conspiring against him.

“The lawsuits filed by Ruth and RAs are the culmination of a approximately five-year conspiracy orchestrated by co-conspirators to harass, defame and extort Carter. The campaign was launched and reinforced by the #MeToo movement,” read one section of the lawsuit.

The lawsuit alleges that one of the women, along with her family, also took advantage of Aaron Carter, Nick's younger brother, who died in November 2022, at age 34, as part of the extortion strategy.

''(…) They exploited Aaron's fragile condition and family stress to cover up their credibly, relentlessly and repeatedly smear campaign, using Aaron to try to legitimize their frivolous stories,'' the lawsuit said.

“In the months leading up to his recent death, Aaron not only apologized to Carter for his involvement in the smear campaign [das acusadoras]but publicly declared that they were liars”, said another excerpt from the records.

Carter is asking for compensation of US$2,350,000 (more than R$11 million in the current conversion) for moral and material damages and legal fees.
