“Nickel Boys” drama that competes for Oscar for best movie arrived at streaming this Thursday (27). Unlike other films, production is filmed in the first person and shows the whole history from the perspective of the protagonists.
Set in the 1960s, the film is based on the book “The Nickel Boys” Cranon Whitehead and tells the story of the friendship of two American black boys sent to a Florida reformatory.
The plot is based on the Dozier School for Boys, a reformatory that actually existed and was known to treat young people who live there abusive. During the movie, most scenes are portrayed by the characters’ looks. Initially, accompanying only the point of view of Elwood (Ethan Herisse) and later, including scenes by the vision of Turner (Brandon Wilson).
The film, which is available at Prime Video, was nominated for best film awards and best adapted script at the 97th Oscar ceremony, which takes place on Sunday (2) in Hollywood. Check out this year’s full list of nominees.
