Nightmare for a new mother: The acquaintance via Facebook, the burglary and the abduction of her 8-day-old son

A young mother had a nightmare when a woman she had met through Facebook, broke into her house, sprayed her with a spray used to protect her from bears and tried to grab her 8-day-old son.

32-year-old Nicole Shanks arrested for the horrific incident that took place on her Day Mother in Ottawa, Canada.

According to the police, Shanks met the victim through a Facebook group for new mothers and secured her address with the excuse that she had won a gift, the Global News website reported.

The Shanks handed over the gift basket last Friday, only to return on Saturday and enter the house by force. Use the spray against the people who were in it and then allegedly grabbed the newborn baby boy and ran out of the house.

Neighbors noticed that something was happening and chased the woman, caught her and held her until the police arrived.

The new mom wrote in a Facebook post that Shanks claimed that the baby was actually hers. “She sprayed my face and screamed that I had stolen it from her baby. He took my son and ran with him and my neighbors happily took him back without hurting anything“, He wrote.

She even warned others not to trust people easily on social media. “Not everyone has good intentions. Today I almost lost my son “.

Shanks, who used her real name and photo on Facebook, remains in custody.
