The popular sportswear brand Nike has become the leader in terms of profit received from the sale of its own collectible tokens. The company earned $185 million, which is a world record.
Along with the fall of the cryptocurrency market, interest in NFTs has also decreased significantly. However, this did not prevent Nike tokens from gaining popularity. In total, more than 67,000 transactions were carried out with brand tokens. At the same time, the company received $93 million from initial sales and $92 million from transaction fees.
The total trading volume of NFTs issued by Nike exceeded $1 billion 293 million.
In terms of profits from sales of NFT, Nike was in the lead, and by a significant margin. In second place is fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana with $25.6 million in profits. Sportswear brand Adidas also launched its NFT collection, but the token sales generated only $10 million in revenue.
Recall that Nike filed a lawsuit against the StockX platform, in which it accused it of illegally selling non-fungible tokens with the image of Nike sneakers. However, the platform management stated that the claims of the sportswear and footwear brand are unfounded.
