Nikkor Z 100-400mm f / 4.5-5.6 VR S lens is priced at $ 2,700 by the manufacturer

Along with the Nikon Z 9 camera and the Nikkor Z 24-120mm f / 4 S lens, Nikon introduced the Nikkor Z 100-400mm f / 4.5-5.6 VR S lens, also designed for Nikon Z mirrorless cameras. It is a full-frame telephoto zoom lens. compatible with teleconverters TC-1.4x and TC-2.0x, which increase its maximum focal length to 560 and 800 mm, respectively.

The focusing system of the lens includes two stepping motors (STM) for fast, accurate and quiet autofocus for stills and movies. The lens is equipped with an Image Stabilizer that the manufacturer estimates at 5.5 EV.

An interesting feature of the novelty is the “internal balancing” technology, first used in Nikon lenses, which reduces the displacement of the center of gravity when the focal length is changed. By the way, the zoom ring travel is only 80 °, which is the smallest in the class. Thanks to this, from the minimum focal length to the maximum, you can go with just one movement.
