Nikon has introduced a new version of its FTZ adapter, which enables Nikon F mount lenses to be used with Nikon Z system cameras.

In terms of functionality, the new adapter does not differ from its predecessor, but it is smaller and lighter because it lacks a built-in tripod mount. This makes it easier to use the adapter with some lenses and cameras, according to the manufacturer. In particular, the new adapter is more convenient when using these lenses with the Nikon Z9 camera.
Contrary to some rumors, the FTZ II will not support autofocusing with older AF-D lenses designed for in-camera drive (“screwdriver”). As before, these lenses can be used in manual focus mode.
The FTZ II will go on sale later this year and will cost $ 250 – the same as the FTZ model.
